Default 97 club car build with my dad

Hi All,

I thought I would share my project with you. My dad and I bought a roller for $200 brought it home and started to clean up the frame.

that's when we noticed the frame was bent. at some point it was hit hard in the rear and as you can see was bent pretty good. luckily the guy we bought it from straighten it up for us.

we are going to install everything new on the cart.

lift kit
wheels and tires
New Sparten body
4 foot bed
new floor pad
new gas and brake pads
steering wheel
dash
motor
controller
etc... etc..

here are a few picture so far

What a great project! You're a lucky guy to have this time with your father. It's a time you'll remember the rest of your life.
I look forward to watching this project progress. Nice garage to work in!
I'd kill to have that lift.

Did you build the plates for the battery trays or buy them?

Looking awesome (I am doing a very similar build as you, just don't have my Dad around to help me anymore. Enjoy that time with him; very special for you both!)!

I cut the plates from one piece of aluminum sheet on my bandsaw.

I like the idea of the plates to protect the bottoms of the batteries and considered something along those lines during on my cart but I also worried about water and debris collection and sitting in those trays. Maybe some drain holes?
