There are quite a few threads on the subject, so go ahead and do a search. Unfortunately, depending on how long it's been there, Dave's video from above may be the only way. In the video, the casing from the motor has already been removed, so you only have the weight of the armature acting to defeat the friction. The one time I've had to do it, I was able to leave the whole motor intact and it dropped after about 5 drops. You'll either have to mount an old wheel to the axle, or flip the drum and lock it in place with a couple lug nuts. I used an old paver as the impact point and did it over grass so that the motor would find a softer landing than the sidewalk. Worked for me, your mileage may vary.
