New to me 1990 ds
I just got this 1990 ds 36v cart. My plan is to use it for hunting and family fun car. So far i have added a rear seat/bed and 6" lift with 22" atv tires. It is amazing what it can do off road already with an open diff but is lacking power. I am planning on the 48v conversion in the future but for now has anyone ever shortened the high speed resistor to make more power and would this even work?

Re: New to me 1990 ds
resistors are bypassed at wide open .....you would need more voltage for more power....

Re: New to me 1990 ds
If you have 22” tires I would suggest the vglide bypass where you add in a solenoid at full throttle you can search it and find it on here. Save some cash and do the 48v solid state upgrade if your amazed what it can do now it will blow your mind when hotrodded out!
FYI the bypass won’t get you anymore speed but it’s a safer route than running full amps through your vglide which is likely the weakest element of your resistor set up. |
