Best windshield for presedent
I have a 2017 club car precedent I’m looking for a nice windshield that won’t bend when I tow it behind my motorhome. Seems like all the windshields I get are real thin and they bend. I was just wondering if there are thicker windshields out there that I can get

You're not supposed to tow with the windshield on.

Oh boy. Guess I can’t take it no more. Looks like I’ll just make one out of 3/4” plywood. Thanks for the reply

Re: Best windshield for presedent
Not sure what you were expecting? The thickest windshield I've seen is 1/4" and they still bend. They're meant to withstand low speed, not highway speed. You can't fight material properties and aerodynamics.

Re: Best windshield for presedent
I was just asking if there is a thicker windshield I’ve been trailering my golf cart for over five years and never had a problem last year I bought a different windshield and it seems so thin that it’s going to break so I just wanted to know if there was a difference in windshields I don’t need a lecture on trailering and not trailering a golf cart but thank you anyway I appreciate your time

Re: Best windshield for presedent
The DOT windshields are probably the strongest ones and they are typically 1/4" acrylic. It will probably still flex when being being trailered. How thick is the windshield that you have now?

Re: Best windshield for presedent
Very thin. Not even a 1/4in. The one that’s on it now is a 1/4” but it’s all scratched up. I sold my old cart and just got this new one wanna put a smoked one on. Thanks

An ez problem solver would be to remove it. Takes a couple minutes at most.

Another option would be to put a tension rod behind it. Like the ones used to hold up curtains or shower curtains. If you get one the right size and put it behind the windshield near the middle it may provide the needed extra support to stop the flexing. They are easy to place and remove if adjusted properly.
