2004 Club Car Precedent Runs 10 min dies then runs

I have a 48 volt 2004 club car precedent. It will run 10 min or so then comes to a stop. sits for 4 or 5 min then takes off again and runs a few minutes then repeat. I've put brand new batteries in and also replaced the solenoid. Anyone had this issue? It has a D&D 170-506-0002 motor on it which a Regen Motor with 9.1 Peak HP and a 21-24 speed. Controller is a GE controller 500 amp IQ Regen. Solenoid is a 400 amp solenoid. All of this was put on prior to me buying the cart.. Any help is greatly appreciated.

Most controllers have a thermal cutoff so more than likely your controllers getting overheated

maybe add a fan to it or an air duct (hood scoop) something to cool it down

New at carts. Is there a certain controller you'd recommend to replace it with

Get a digital Voltmeter and do a full charge on your batteries. Let rest a few hours and post pack voltage AND individual battery voltages (with 2 decimals). Then attach voltmeter (with zip ties or alligator clips) to pack AND individual batteries when cart is under load (and when it cuts off) and post here. That may tell us something.

Agreed on this ^ brand new batteries do not have their full capacity yet, and may act just like old dead batteries if you are trying to punch them with a 500a controller and high current motor. They need a few cycles to break in first.
What brand and model of batteries do you have? Are they 8V or 12V? A 12v pack will have a lower capacity then an 8v pack and will struggle to feed a high power controller/motor combo even if theyre broken in properly.
Also, what charger do you have?

we put a controller on today. My guy had one to try. I took it and had the guys locally look at it and everything checked out with the batteries and charging system. Controller ended up getting extremely hot on it

Do any wires/cables get hot also? What gauge cables on your batteries and are they original cables (2004)?
