Default How to you replace your tires?

I am in the process of going over a general maintenance of my FrankenCart, 2006 ACG H3 (CC DS/Prescedent parts)

So far I’ve replaced the dust bellows of the steering rack, inspected and replaced battery cables, upgraded solenoid, installed GPS speedometer, and installed a dash voltmeter.

I checked the tire date of my 205/65/15 tires. They are stamped 1106. Eleventh week of 2006. 15 year old tires!

Though there is no sidewall cracking and a lot of tread left I know it is time for new tires.

Unfortunately there are no tire stores within driving distance. I do not have easy access to a trailer. Short of putting the cart up on Jack stands, removing the tires taking the wheels to a shop for replacement then reinstalling the tires myself does any one have any suggestions for tire replacement?

Are there mobile tire services that replaces tires and balances them?

Any suggestions would be appreciated.

I've taken my cart tires and rims to (IIRC) either a PepBoys or an NTB to have them mounted. Call a local one if you have 'em in your area and tell them the size of tire and rim.

It takes a special machine to mount the small tires. The cost was very fair....can't recall the actual charge but well worth not struggling with 'em myself.

DOT rated tires, no dry rot, plenty of tread, just run them. They’re perfectly fine. They’re not going to explode or come apart. If you get a flat the cart probably won’t even notice.

If you’re convinced it needs new, order tires online, remove the wheels and take them to a tire shop.

I’m with ft. Run them to fail. Good news is that is a common tire size so reasonable price.

My point was that they’re not going to “fail”. Certainly Not in some spectacular fashion.
Eventually the tread will wear out. Or one will get a nail puncture or maybe a cut in the sidewall from some kind of object in the road. At which point the air would slowly escape, and probably won’t even be noticed until the cart is at home and in the garage.

Agreed. Didn’t mean to contradict. It’s not like it is going to burst into flames

Thanks guys. . . I was hoping I could run them as long as I could.

The Navy Base has competitive prices $60 for Falken tires. It’s only 1.9 miles away. Only trouble there is a one mile stretch of road with a posted speed limit of 45 MPH. Legally I can only trace on roads 35 mph or less.

I really don’t want to put this thing up on jack stands .

Well....what he didn't tell you is his cart actually goes 130mph and can lay rubber for 100 feet.
