Then that was most likely the whole problem. Technically it's fixable, but if one wire is corroded the rest will be as well, and it's best to just go ahead and replace the receptacle and avoid future connections issues due to the same problem.

this cart owes me nothing, i'll gladly pay for a new receptacle. i'm a gimp, i use it daily, year round, to get the 200 feet to my shop/garage and around my rural neighborhood. the grey wire would show continuity, then it wouldn't. i'm normally a fix it type and thought about going into the plug, nah...

update: david got the charge receptacle to me pronto, it took me 4 days to get aroundtoit. installation was painless, until i tried charging the cart. i had the relay bypassed, was using a smart outlet to time charge for a couple weeks. some idiot plugged a wire connector wrong, then screwed the charger cover on. you just can't get good help anymore.

all is good now, thanks tahoedawg and fairtax for your help, this forum is great
