Default Broke Battery Post Fix?

Does anyone know if a broke battery post can be fixed? I wasn’t getting a good connection somewhere because my MODZ charger wasn’t kicking on and come to find out the whole post on 1 battery was wobbly. After taking the cable off of the post I realized the it wasn’t seated in the battery anymore because the weld was broken. I’ll start using my torque wrench after I fix this!

You could try soldering it with a large soldering iron used for soldering copper gutters. Do not use a torch directly on the terminal. Heat this with the torch:

Or you can try this:

Don't try to solder on a battery post. That's just not a great idea, and can literally backfire in your face. Any amount of heat near a battery post can cause it to explode.
Drill and tap the post stub next to that and thread in a 5/16 stud.

Those have been over tightened. Over tightening pulls the stud out of the battery.
Use a stubby ratchet to tighten, or use a torque wrench if you have one. No more than 100 in-lbs. Which is basically just a bit more than snug.

I've done both, drill and tap, and drill and thread in a anchor bolt. The later was easier and seemed more secure. Home Depot has them in stainless steel. Get a bag of stainless nuts while you're there.

We send batteries with a bad post here back to the battery manufacturer (Trojan in my case) ... they charge $25 for a new post to be installed which is a steal compared to a new battery...Just for some more options
