Default Club Car DS Rear Axle

Hello all,

I'm in the middle of changing out the brake assemblies on a 1997 Club car DS and I'm unable go get the axle out. I've removed the snap ring and done everything I can think of to get it to break free, but I've been unsuccessful.

I'm hoping I could get some ideas from someone who has done this before. All suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks
Den

I believe it's just a circlip holding it in place if you've removed the snap ring. Maybe a slide hammer might get the job done for ya

The bearing has to come out with the axle and they usually get rusted into place.
A slide hammer is usually the only way. You may also end up having to replace the bearing once it's finally out. The bearing is pressed onto the axle, and pretty much requires a press to remove.

Many thanks to you both, the slide hammer was what I needed.

Have a great day
