Spark with Voltage Reducer
So I installed a voltage reducer in anticipation of adding a light kit to my 99 DS, 48V. I was a bit surprised when I was hooking up the batteries when I was done and the power wire for the reducer sparked. Nothing is currently connected to it, just wired up, with the wire ends taped so as not to short on anything
It's working correctly, I'm getting 12V on the output. Is the spark normal? |

Re: Spark with Voltage Reducer
ok, thanks. I just thought it was odd since there wasn't anything hooked to the voltage reducer.

Re: Spark with Voltage Reducer
Yes voltage reducers always spark if you hook them direct without a switch as they immediately start feeding power…no worries
