Cart Slower after Speed Magnet

I have a 2012 Club Car Precedent with a PH serial number. My cart tops out at 13-14mph, so speed code 3. I bought a speed magnet off Amazon and installed it last night. Now the cart goes 10-11mph. The old magnet has 2 dots on the inside of the magnet that faces the motor and the new one has 4 dots. Any reason for this reduction of speed with the magnet? I've read about knock off magnets not working, but could there be another reason for the speed drop?

A speed magnet won't work on an excel cart which is what you have (PH)...Has to be an iq cart ( 2nd digit of the serial # is a Q) for it to work..Your controller (1515) won't allow it to work..

Well ****. I read that my cart was an IQ Excel so I thought it would work. Oh well...

Nope...Either an excel or an IQ...If you want more speed you can purchase speed code 4 from a dealer 19-20 mph, or install a new controller ...

Thanks yall. I just bought the speed magnet to give me a small boost until my motor goes to Plumquick for the Bandit upgrade later this month.
