Transporting, in the rain
I live in Florida and will be transporting a 2020 Club Car Onward (electric) on an open utility trailer about 70 miles on a monthly basis. Downpours are the rule here, especially in the summer and I'm worried about water intrusion into the electrical system.
Has anyone found a solution for this? I've been thinking about a large, heavy duty tarp but I'm not sure how well that would work since the bottom will be open as well. |

Re: Transporting, in the rain
I think it will be fine. I live in Florida and have driven our 92 ds in a white out. Even gone through rain and mud puddles. Never had an issue. Those newer club cars have gutters on the roof for the rain to drain out. Also I'm sure its more waterproof then a 30 year old cart lol.

Re: Transporting, in the rain
A tarp would be a good idea to keep things a bit drier when transporting in the rain. My carts have cloth / foam seats which I don't want to get soaked. I'm not sure that much water would get into electronics even driving in the rain even without a tarp but with a tarp I'm pretty sure you would be fine in a downpour.

Re: Transporting, in the rain
I wouldn’t worry about it. I (and others here) have regularly driven my carts through far worse environmental conditions than your cart will ever experience on a trailer. All the electrical components are reasonably weatherproofed and able to experience being outdoors.
Your seat and butt may get wet but unless you drive through a river it should be perfectly fine. Make sure to strap down the seat, it would suck to lose it on the highway. |

Re: Transporting, in the rain
i'm with cp241 on this. the electronics on these carts are pretty much waterproof. my cart is outside 95% of the time in rain and snow. i too would worry more about the seat and the windshield going down the road
