2019 Club Car Tempo Body/Plastic Options?
Soooo… I got quoted $1200 to paint the front and rear plastics (2 pieces) from stock Club Car beige to an electric blue. That is WITH me taking the plastics off and bringing it to the body shop.
Does that seem a bit expensive? If so, what should something like that cost? Lastly, I can’t find anywhere that sells aftermarket 2019 Club Car Tempo plastics with stock look but in a different color. Any help is appreciated! Thanks! |

Re: 2019 Club Car Tempo Body/Plastic Options?
Yes I think that is very expensive. I paint cart bodies a few times a month and I charge $500. I don't enjoy it because there is a ton of sanding and prep work. The primer, paint, activators, reducers, plastic adhesive add up to approx $200 retail. Wholesale it's $120. The majority of the time is spent stripping, sanding, prep. It can be done in a single day if the body does not have any major defects. Look around. You will find cheaper places. Just make sure they use a plastic adhesive prep, bulldog or equivalent.

Re: 2019 Club Car Tempo Body/Plastic Options?
For an automotive body shop, that's probably about average cost.
Like Nicko said, there is a LOT of prep work involved if you want it to look good and the paint to actually stick. Most of the cost at a body shop is materials and labor time for prep, and for time that it spends in the paint booth. I'll second that you keep looking around, because there are lots of people and other shops that are fully capable of doing really good paint work for a lot less than what a body shop will charge. |

That seems really expensive. I just had my Onward body painted with Ford Tuxedo black and with extra flake. I had to bring the plastics to him and he charged me $400. Houston TX area.

Consider a wrap. I don’t know much about them but the panels look like simple pieces for a custom design wrap job.

My guy in Sarasota was 499. I paid and extra 150 for him to pick up and return and disassemble and reassemble. See Picts. If you are near here PM me for the info. Well worth it.

Appreciate the responses! I will keep shopping around.
Now how about any sites that sell aftermarket plastics in different colors? |
