EZGO TXT 2008 Key Switch Help
Hey guys, I'm rebuilding a 2008 EXGO TXT and I've got some different ideas for the key switch. I'm thinking that I'd like to use a wireless remote to power on a push button. Then you push the button to power on the cart. It provides a safety mechanism so that no one with a key can jump in and take off, like my kids. You would have to have the remote. But, because I'm difficult and like to do things differently, I'd like to use a button instead of a key.
The two leads on the key switch show pack voltage when I check them with a multimeter. So here is the question: 1) Is there an inline fuse somewhere or is it just straight from the battery to the solenoid? Anyone have a diagram of how that circuit works? 2) How many amps would the switch need to be able to handle? I'm glad my first post could be difficult Latching Push Button: https://www.oznium.com/switches/anti-vandal-led-switch Remote Switch https://www.amazon.com/DONJON-Wirele...5734310&sr=8-5 |

Re: EZGO TXT 2008 Key Switch Help
I thought about a keyless remote that I saw onYoutube that is similar to the one you show from Amazon but I figured it was just something else to go wrong. So I opted for a key switch from a Harley Davidson and put in a separate light switch. Maybe it’s just me but I just don’t trust a device that only cost $23. I’ll be monitoring to see how many problems people have with this or similar devices.

Re: EZGO TXT 2008 Key Switch Help
Do a search on here.
Seem to remember a few post with others doing remote key switch’s in the past. Shouldn’t be a problem on a txt. Thinking a remote control on/ off relay to replace key switch’s open / closed contacts. You should be able to down load wire diagram for cart from stickies on here. Just a note, whenever touching anything electrical on carts make sure run tow switch is on tow position. Personally I’ll stick with key switch and limit who has keys. |
