Just Looking for More Torque
What's the quickest and easiest way to get a 2014 precedent to drive up hills better? I'm ok with the top speed but with 4 seats, steep hills and the 22's I need more torque.
A plum Quick motor , rear diff change or other? |

Re: Just Looking for More Torque
Controller.. Go with a 500 amp and turn it down for now until you replace the motor.

A controller. good tip. PH1403-434516, A 500 Amp can be turned down so I can keep my stock motor for a while? Which 500 amp controller?

Just Looking for More Torque
Motor alone won’t do it.
An Alltrax 300 will wake it up. Increase speed from 17, up to 23-24. Nice thing about the Alltrax 300 is you can keep the stock Solenoid and Battery Cables. But if you go 500, you need the $110 solenoid and the 2 gauge cables. Then you have to add the motor for extra torque. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

Re: Just Looking for More Torque
300 is a good controller but not going to help tremendously with hills. It is better but not quite enough. 4ga wires, a solenoid and a 500 amp controller and you would be cooking. 2ga would be nice but not needed at 400. Alltrax is a good option but others like Navitas. Your choice

Re: Just Looking for More Torque
You can always turn the 500 Amp Alltrax down to 300 - and still have the cooling fan and additional amperage in the future. That is how I run mine. I use stock solenoid - but I did upgrade to 2 gauge cables when I went to Lithium batteries.

Re: Just Looking for More Torque
You don't need torque to drive up hills faster, you need horsepower. Like a 6 or 7 HP motor. Then you need the amps to drive it. Consider one of the controllers that other people suggested.

Re: Just Looking for More Torque
Alltrax XCT500 dialed back to 400 amps (until you replace the motor) bigger solenoid and battery cables. Provides tons more torque and hill climbing ability. You will not be disappointed by this controller IMHO.
