Re: charger not working
THe charger needs to see a min amount of voltage to start. OEM charger needed to see around 27-28 volts.

Re: charger not working
Measure the voltage between the Black and Red wires attached to the control board when charger is plugged into cart. (Doesn't need to be plugged into AC power.)
Those two wires sense the cart's battery pack voltage, which has to be high enough to energize the relay on the charger's control board to turn on charger. Once the charger is on, the relay is self holding and the charger stays on until the control board's battery sensing circuit (Black and Red wires) sees the cutoff voltage (45V +/-1V for a 36V charger) or the safety timer times out (12 to 16 hours typically). |

Re: charger not working
If the battery voltage is too low put a 12v charger on 2 batteries at a time to bring them up to about 4.7-5v each. If you are in a hurry you can try the charger as soon as you start charging the last pair (with the 12v charger on) Then remove the 12v charger if the 36v charger starts. GL
When I was doing road service or house calls I would carry a hot charger with the the relay bypassed for dead carts. I would put this on the cart and when the voltage got high enough to start the customers charger I would remove the hot charger and hope for the best - batteries do not like excessive discharge. |
