Re: 04 Precedent Stretch Build (electrical issue)
The reason I ask is because I have already bypassed it for charging reasons. So is this a different bypass? Everything I looked up to bypass just talks about bypassing for charging

Re: 04 Precedent Stretch Build (electrical issue)
Coming off the OBC is a six-pin connector. Disconnect it and on the end going to the controller jumper between the blue and white wire. A paper clip will fit perfectly in the connector's holes. For more info see https://www.buggiesgonewild.com/showthread.php?t=114227

Re: 04 Precedent Stretch Build (electrical issue)
Ok I have done that and no change. Even went as far as connecting the wires together to make sure the paper clip wasn’t the issue. No change

Re: 04 Precedent Stretch Build (electrical issue)
I did plug the charger in also after splicing the blue and white together and let it do the 1 minute thing and then tried and no change either

Re: 04 Precedent Stretch Build (electrical issue)
It’ll be pretty sweet once I can get it to run.

Re: 04 Precedent Stretch Build (electrical issue)
Going back to post #6, unplug the 16 pin controller plug so cart won't run away:
Put the negative voltmeter lead on pack negative terminal, then check for 48 volts at the following locations: 1] Pink wire going into the run/tow switch. If no voltage, make sure the pink wire is connected to the main solenoid which is directly off pack positive. Then check the following controller plug pins: 2] Turn run/tow to run, check pin #9 3] Turn key switch on, check pin #10 4] Push throttle until micro switch closes, check pin #6 5] F/R switch to forward, check pin #8 6] F/R switch to reverse, check pin #16 If you do not have 48v at any of these points, the one missing is the problem. If you do have 48V at all points shown, all connections in the harness are good. There is a problem in the controller to solenoid circuit and will need further checking. |

Re: 04 Precedent Stretch Build (electrical issue)
Ok I have 48+ at all of those locations. What is next?

Re: 04 Precedent Stretch Build (electrical issue)
Have you tried resetting the OBC?

Re: 04 Precedent Stretch Build (electrical issue)
I am eliminating some other possibilities based on your statement that it ran fine before the extension. One I eliminated was the OBC reset. That could be a possibility if the OBC is still in the cart.
Reconnect controller plug. T/R switch to run. Push cart backwards and see if there is a reverse horn. Jack rear wheels off floor. T/R switch to run. Key switch on. Push throttle and listen for solenoid to energize. If it doesn't energize, check for 48 volts across the small solenoid terminals while doing the same steps. If no voltage there, the problem is you have no 48 volt negative coming from pin 12 on the controller to energize the solenoid. If you have voltage there, you have a bad solenoid , or coil diode. Try tapping on the solenoid with a wooden stick while pushing the throttle. |
