Suggestion for Motor Controller for Sepex 5hp Motor??
I have a 2005 GEM ES EV in which the controller is missing. The motor is a Shunt Wound (AKA SEPEX or REGEN) motor, 74v 5hp 4100RPM that's running the car. Ideally I would like to scrap all the cars wiring and start over keeping the motor and get a new controller that would work. The car will be used OFF road, need high torque <15mph and vehicle weights about 1400lbs loaded with batteries, curb weight and driver.
Some have mentioned Alltrax but no specifics on what model, etc.. I would (if its possible) like to use my 230ah 48v LifePo4 battery to power the car. So a few questions: 1) Is it possible to run the 72v shunt wound motor at 48v ? 2) What controller do I need (model number, etc..) Worse case I guess I can sell the motor put in a series wound (for high torque) and get a 48v controller? |
