Default 2008 club car precedent 48 volt fried.

So I have a 2008 club car precedent 48 volt, that recently my controller went out on, so I ordered a new one off amazon and received controller and verified part number and all plugs were the same, any ways I did not see the piece of paper on the bottom of box that said that if I have a certain part number of controller I needed to use there 16 pin adaptor.

So anyways I plugged in and hooked up new controller and hooked up batteries and turned put tow/run switch to RUN and thats when I got some sparks and burning smell so Immediately turned it in Tow and unhooked battery and knew I fried the new controller.
So next thing I did was put the old controller back in because all that was wrong with it is It didnt have reverse, but with the old controller back in I get nothing, no click of solenoid when I press accelerator. I have 50 volts at solenoid and controller. So what else would have fried when I hooked up the new controller?
Lesson learned for sure, so I guess the 16 pin adaptor they supply rearranges the 16 pin wires.

Also checked my OBC I have 50 volts at wire under gray boot.

What else would be something to consider to check ?

Thanks.

What was the model # of the new controller you installed. Maybe post an Amazon link.

Yes it looks like they gave me the wrong model number, I found the fuse burnt that was between the solenoid and and controller so after replacing that fuse and putting the old controller back in it is back to working with the old controller just with no reverse, Im hoping they will accept a return on the controller because I verified my part # with them when ordering but received the wrong one. will see
