Default Can anyone confirm the splines on this 2004 DS motor?

So the cart wont move and I was getting a loud bang and grind. I noticed the motor has pulled away slightly from the diff housing and when I yanked it apart today I noticed the splines on the motor are not very deep.. is this normal or are mine worn out?
Slight clarification.. The picture is with the rubber bushing in the hole removed, however when its in place there are almost no splines exposed

They should be all the way to the top of the coupler. Those are 100% gone. The trans input shaft will not even reach what's remaining there. Even if it could, they wouldn't last long.

I would have to assume the splines on the input shaft are worn or damaged as well, and that can cause excessive wear to the splines in the coupler.
New motor time, and you may also be in the market for a rear axle. Parts for the older axles are getting harder to come by.

You need a new motor for sure and you more than likely need a new input shaft in your differential. The input shaft has been discontinued, but I have some. If you're interested, give me a call tomorrow. 706-431-3917

Wow. That’s pretty impressive actually. No trace of splines whatsoever
