Default Charger Recommendation

I originally posted this in the Extreme DC section but later realized this might be the more appropriate place.

I just ordered a solid state conversion kit from scottyb along with one of the Admiral motors to pair with it. My cart is currently running on 3 12v deep cycle marine batteries and I plan on throwing on a 4th one to get it up to 48v. Does anyone have any recommendations for 48v chargers? Can I trust the ones I find on amazon?

The MODZ Max48 has served me quite well.

I found one on amazon for $280. It is a crows foot charger and it has worked as stated for the past 2 years!

I second the Lester Summit II, they have a lot of charging profile choices available. The bluetooth is convenient when mounted onboard but lacks range.

I wish him luck with that, but I'm skeptical of "one size fits all" solutions. We all know even different brands of lead acid batteries require different charging algorithms. Now factor in AGM's and even different lithium configurations? At least it's not terribly expensive.

The 6v battery needs the Lester Summit 1050w charger. This battery requires a bulk charge rate equal to 10% of its 200 ah capacity. Plain and simple the batteries will last longer with the correct charging. Lester allows you to connect with BT app and input the exact make and model battery being charged for the best results. Cheaper options will cost more later.

Where did you come up with the 6 volt battery? benc62 says he has 3-12 volt deep cycle batteries and is planning on adding a 4th.

Not to hijack, but it seems on topic. Any reason to swap out a PowerDrive 3 working with the OBC to an aftermarket charger? I swapped the black box batteries out to Crowns and all seems well, but I do sorta cock my head at the fact I can do nothing to change "charging profiles" with the PD3. It runs the batteries up to about 65, they settle at around 52.
