Default Universal Turn Signal Switch w/ Factory Lights

Has anybody installed one of the universal turn switches on a 2002 or similar cart with the OEM light kit? I attached a photo of the switch.

I temporarily wired the switch to the front left turn signal only. The bulb barely lit and did not blink. I switched the bulb to an LED bulb and it lit just fine, but also did not blink. After reading through many threads, I believe the flasher unit is not truly LED compatible. I will be grabbing another flasher from the auto parts store this evening.

The wiring instructions state that the turn signal switch needs to be connected to the brake light switch. My cart has two brake lights switches (on the brake pedal) and a brake light relay under the dash. The wiring instructions from Club Car show that the OEM turn signal switch goes wired to the brake relay under the dash. Has anybody done this or have access to the instructions that come with the OEM turn signal kit (#101707402)?

I want to make sure that I understand the system before I spend hours running all the necessary wires. Thanks!

I figured this out. The flasher unit that comes with the universal turn signal switch is crap. I bought a Novita EP35 at the local auto parts store and the lights flash.

For those with factory lights and no turn signals: The OEM wiring kit has bullet connecters for the connection to the brake relay. Disconnect the two brake light cables going to the relay and you can connect to the relay directly. Then just wire your turn signal switch cables to the brake light cables per instructions.

Hope this helps somebody!
