03 Yamaha G22

I recently bought a Yamaha G22. Yesterday I just purchased a folding back seat and light kit.

I know before putting the rear seat on I need to upgrade the rear shocks. I saw online some stores who offer the full shock and spring assembly, while others just offer the springs with some type of clamp or clip.

I have 2 main questions:

1. How hard is it just to install just the springs? I need a way to compress them correct? or is it better to buy the full assembly?

2. What other things will I need? When i replaced the leaf spring on my EZ-GO I had to replace the bushing as well. How many bushings and what else should be purchased?

1) you will need a compressor to get the old springs off ,but not to install the new ones.

I have seen some people build a 1 1/2- 2 " lift or shock extenders to stop the car from bottoming out. I have installed several rear seats without hd springs if not loading the rear seat very often.

2) you should not need anything else.

I'd put the seat on first, then decide whether you need the springs. I did a 22 a few months ago, and the owners are getting by with the stock springs, I believe!
