i was given another marathon that doesnt run to use as parts and i took the motor and controller(i think there both stock) out of it and put them in my cart that i use. ive found though that the motor i had before was faster(im not sure if its stock). my question now is how risky is it to the controller to put the other motor in?

Re: ez-go marathon wiring
The risk is probably minimal, but I'd check out the part numbers on the motors and identify what they are first.

Re: ez-go marathon wiring
Could it be 69200-89A? I think that's a Par Car motor but not sure.

Re: ez-go marathon wiring
Here's some info on it I think:
GE 36-volt (4hp@4400rpm) high speed series electric motor. For Columbia and Melex with Dana axle. For E-Z-GO 1988-up series cars. For Yamaha G14, G16. Speed up to 20mph with stock controller. (Also works on 48-volt). NOT FOR USE ON PDS OR DCS CARS. Now bear in mind I'm no expert, i am just good at internet research sometimes. |

Re: ez-go marathon wiring
A marathon will have the controller in the middle, between the batteries. A DCX, Txt, PDS, RXV will have the controller mounted just in front of the passenger wheel. The box covering the controller will let you in on which it is. PDS will have a large label on the front of the black box. A DCS will not have a tow switch.
