Well after spending most of the day reading up on engine swaps here on the BGW site. I have decided to go predator 420 clone from harbor freight. We have a store here so I may even go pick it up tonight. I will get the clutch adapter from CCP. This is going to be a little more work than I had planned, but I think I will be happier in the long run. I originally thought I would just put in a new piston and rings and be back on the road. Is there anything else I need to order before I get started?

Thanks Tom

OK,

Got my predator 420cc motor from Harbor Freight today. There was a bit of confusion in the store. I called ahead to make sure they stocked the engine and was told they had 2 in stock. When I arrived I walked back to the display area and there were none. In fact even the display was sold. The Display sticker said close out price $299. I found an employ and asked what the deal was. He said they sold the last one over a month ago. I asked if he could double check in the back. Sure enough he found the 2 that I had been told about. Unfortunately they had a different skew number so I did not get the close out price. That was not the end of the world for me. I was just happy they had one. I brought in a flyer that had them marked down from $399 to $349 and I had the 20% off coupon on top of that. Total came to $279 plus tax, plus 2yr extended warranty $49. Grand total of $353. Just like what others on here had gotten it for. I did have to get a manager for all the discounts because there was a different product number for the engine I purchased. It still is a predator 420cc horizontal shaft. Can't think much has changed.

This will probably be my last post on this thread. I will start a build thread over in the big block section under clones.

Thanks Tom
