Series to PDS?
So I have a 03 series (txt standard) that I use for golfing and golfing only. I will never lift it. I will never use it for anything else. Right now it is slow... very slow.
I have a 04 PDS that has some parts missing... but what I do have is the motor, which looks good. Brushes are in decent shape. I have the controller which also looks good. I have 2 of the wiring harnesses, haven't flipped the pds over to see which ones they are, but I know one is the f/r switch. The other is not the throttle. I heard there should be a sensor on the end of the motor?? Mine doesn't have anything. So here is my question: What is cross compatible with a series and pds? Is the throttle harness the same? If I were going to swap it over, what would I absolutely need from the other cart that is not currently on my series cart? My thinking is the pds will be faster, especially with the freedom chip. Is there any other way to make my series faster, other than regear, 48v, etc...? |

Re: Series to PDS?
There was PDS and DCS. You need to first determine which one you have

Pds in the spare cart. Rocker switch on the dash.

Re: Series to PDS?
It's quite doable. the system requires:
controller / solenoid (PDS) ITS throttle (universal) 2 wire harness (PDS) motor (PDS) Speed sensor and harness (PDS) |

Re: Series to PDS?
Does the speed sensor go on the end of the motor?
Also, is there a way to test the controller? Where would the solenoid be located on my pds cart? |

Re: Series to PDS?
Isn't the solonoid strapped to the controller on that model also?

Re: Series to PDS?
If it is, I don't have that. There are 2 bolts on the strap that holds the controller onto the heat sync. I guess that is where it is supposed to go.
So I'm missing the solenoid and speed sensor. I have 2 wire harnesses coming from the front of the cart. I guess one is the key switch and the other is f/r switch? Anything else I'm missing? |

Re: Series to PDS?
Is there a better option to get my series to go faster other than switching to pds?

Re: Series to PDS?
I would think yes it would be easier to fix the series cart, than swapping everything to pds?
So yes you need a solonoid in that spot with the 2 bolts are. That 2 wire harness I think you see are coming prom the petal ITS setup? But hard to say without pictures and wire colors? |
