pre-2001.5 steering parts
I have a pre 2001.5 txt with a steering problem. Does anyone know where I can get parts for the steering gear. A website where I may see the parts breakdown would not go amiss either. What i have is quite a bit o play. the tie rods seem to be ok and it appears that the play is in the steering gear itself. Any info or videos on such problems would be so helpful.

not much. I am a mechanic by trade so i'm pretty sure i can handle dis assembly. Just need a source for parts. Its the steering gear with the three bolt pattern.

I know a lot of people don't like it, but eBay is a good place to look. That shouldn't be a hard part to find.

I love ebay. Not sure where the hate comes from you can find obsolete parts usually from NOS and you can find cheap china parts at usually the lowest price availible.

i broke my steering rack and got a chinese one-all was good except the input shaft from the steering wheel was too small....so-i put a peice of copper pipe between the two and it made the perfect shim-problem solved!

Found a steering gear with the offset bolt pattern on ebay. Ill just rrplace the whole unit and be done.
