speed controler
I got a 1996 EZ GO 36 volt, smoked the speed controller. Any thoughts in what would cause this? Would like to know what to check for before installing the new won.

Re: speed controler
I have a 96 TXT series cart and just killed the second factory controller. The first one was a loose/bad battery cable going up a pretty steep incline with 4 adults. It melted the post slam off the battery. The second one (see thread Oh No EZ Do Wont Go) was just overworking the cart (weight). Whatever you do DON'T put a factory controller back on it; upgrade the system, it will be worth the money in the long run. Upgrade it to suit how you use it. Be sure all cables/wires are in good shape and no loose connections. Good Luck.
