2007 ezgo pds no solenoid won't move

07 pds... had table last year with this cart...would not run... since I replaced key switch f and d switch, pedal micro switch, solinoid,resistor,and controller..
The other day the son put the charger on and after charging cart wouldn't work at all..
The the next day it worked like it should and has for the last 3 weeks....
All of a sudden it's not working again.
I swapped out the solinoid,checked pack volt 38, key switch has continuity, f and red is good..red white wire has voltage on it...both blue and yellow have voltage and register is at 250 ohms
What else can keep the solinoid from workin? Can a charger knock out a controller?

I take it the solenoid does not click when the pedal is pushed?

First, check for B+ (Battery pack voltage) on the smaller of the 3 wire coming out of the back of the charge receptacle.

If you have it there, check for B+ on J1 Pins 4&5. Should have it on Pin-5 100% of the time and on Pin-4 whenever the charger is not plugged into cart.

If you have it on those two pins, check for it on the rest of the pins in J1. with charger not plugged into cart, Run/Tow in RUN, keyswitch ON, FORWARD selected on the F/R switch and the pedal NOT pressed, you should have B+ on all of J1's pins except 2 and 10.

Let us know what you find and we'll go from there.

Ok will go out tonight and try it... it is odd that this has happened both times after charging

A magnet in the charger's plug opens the reed switch in the cart's charge receptacle when it is plugged in, disabling cart.

If the reed switch doesn't close properly when the charger is disconnected, the cart remains disabled.

EZGO stopped installing the troublesome reed switches in about 2008 and many guys just bypass it. See attached.

Ok so went out and checked ....
Switch on ..forward pack voltage on all pins except 2 10.
Pack voltage is 38...

Have you checked to see if the F&R switch is failing?

Press the pedal and the B+ on Pin-6 ought to go away.

If it doesn't, the pedal switch (or wiring) is bad.

If it does, and the solenoid doesn't click, the controller is probably bad.


FWIW, if the F/R is in R, Pin-2 will have B+ and Pin-3 won't.

Johnnie, a 2007 should not have a reed switch installed in it. It should have a bypass wire in place of the reed switch which could possibly be corroded and going bad.

Scottie, I think he said he has already changed the FnR.

My thoughts would be possibly a bad Pedal Box Micro?

Thanks Rab, I knew they stopped using reed switch somewhere in that era, but not what model year.

Over the spring I replaced everything! The key switch..f and r switch..Micro switch in pedal box and I can hear it clicking as in operating the pedal...
i didn't get a chance to check the red/WHT wire st the charge port...but I do show voltage on it.
It could be bad wiring ....it's just weird how it worked fine the first time the charged it and it did this exact same thing
Th e next day it worked like it should for like a week until it was put on the charger again.....the bam nothin... wierd....
So I'll check the charge port tonight and take a pic of it for you guguys....
