1996 TXT lift kit question
We just acquired an electric EZGo. Manual says it is a 1996 TXT and it has headlights.
We have a few acres of relatively flat land and we are hoping to use it for hauling hay, tools, trailer and a bit of running about in the neighborhood. We definitely need new tires, possibly rims and we are thinking maybe a bit of a lift kit. Anyone have any recommendations where to start getting it rolling and battery/charger check, etc? |

1996 saw 2 drive systems offered, DCS and Series. See attached, which do you have?

Re: 1996 TXT lift kit question
Are the batteries flat? Does it have batteries for cores?
Is it 48 or 36v? If 48v, is it six 8v batteries or eight 6v batteries? Do you have a charger for it? From your post it sounds like it doesn't run currently, just need some more details. |

Re: 1996 TXT lift kit question
Also, I have a TXT48 with a 6" lift and 22inch tires. If you ask me, that's too much for my tastes. If I were to do it again, I'd look for a 2 or 3 inch lift and 20 inch tires.
Too large a tire takes away a lot of torque, since it affects your final gear ratio. |

Re: 1996 TXT lift kit question
4" would be fine if your wanting 20" tires. If you really wanted a 3" lift that's not much difference in the two.

Re: 1996 TXT lift kit question
How much difference is there between the electric and the gas models? Looks like that one was for gas...
