1999 EZGO TXT Freedom Non PDS Cart
I know that there is a speed plug for the PDS 1206MX controller. Does anything exist for the Non-PDS cart for simple speed enhancement. With new batteries the cart runs 13mph. Is this normal for this cart?

Re: 1999 EZGO TXT Freedom Non PDS Cart
Is this a cart with a series motor? If so, then no. If this is a late model sepex (2010 and up) then yes. Requires a electronic key and/or hand held scanner (dealer).
Max speed this way is 19.6 on 18" tires. Edit: OK, re read and I see 1999. These carts are either series or DCS(sepex) but no short cuts to increase speed. PDS first appeared in 2000 |

Re: 1999 EZGO TXT Freedom Non PDS Cart
There are 2 types of DC drive systems. Series makes more torque and Sepex makes more speed. Generally if you have a series cart and you want speed you have to open your wallet and reduce your target mph. Or sell it and buy a cart that was DESIGNED to produce speed and not hate the very functional series cart.

Re: 1999 EZGO TXT Freedom Non PDS Cart
Check the local cart places, maybe they have a stock ezgo high speed motor laying around. Gets around 18-19 mph on 36v. Your motor is likely a "fleet speed" motor for standard golf course use. Ezgo offered a "freedom" option with higher speed. That hi speed motor was often replaced with a even higher speed motor to get speeds over 20mph. They may have some of those oem "freedom" motors around that you could score cheaper than a major upgrade (it works with a stock controller). As time goes on, that deal gets less likely, but worth a look. All depends on how fast you have to go. If you want speeds over 20mph on stock 18" tires, plan on cracking open that wallet for a serious speed upgrade.

cgtech - Thanks for the update. I will give that a try. Have a local dealer that may be able to help me with that. My buddy doesn't want or need real high speed. 18-19mph would be great since he only reaches 13 on pavement with new batteries.
