Default Throttle box micro switch

Need a little help. I went to put the throttlebox back in and something didn`t feel right, so I pulled the top off and it looks like the micro switch is broken. When the pedal returns, the little lever opens up and then get pushed by the rod when the pedal is pushed again. My question is whether it is just the switch and I replace it, or do you think there is a problem that caused the switch to break? I know it`s hard to tell just by looking at these pics, just curious if it is a common thing...

The arm on it looks bent so that it can't ride up on the collar like it's supposed to.

Get a new pedal box micro switch from Ezgo. Make sure you get the right one for the pedal box. If it rolls off the back side of that trigger boss as shown in pic 2 then adjust the plunger position so it and the trigger boss are closer to the induction coil tunnel. The plunger should never fall off the boss as shown in the pedal up position as this will lead to switch trigger damage.

The plunger is on a threaded rod, loosen the set crew, back the lock nut off, unscrew the plunger until the trigger rests on the boss with the pedal up, reTIGHTEN the set screw & lock nut.

Isn't the plunger supposed to be 5/16 from hole for proper setting; thought I read that some where. thanks

The manual says 17/64 but I don't think it is so critical. Out and clear has always worked for me. Of course too far out would waste pedal stroke.
