Alltrax XCT newest version help needed
I am installing a the latest version of the Alltrax XCT 48500 controller in a PDS cart. Cart had a DCX 48V 500 amp controller in it and the cart worked great. I unplugged everything and installed the new controller and solenoid and now the controller will not power up. I have 2 identical controllers so swapped them to see if was a bad controller and have the same result. I have tried 3 different solenoids, same result. I have an extra wire harness and tow switch and have the same result. It seems like no matter what I do, the controller will not power up. It is wired per Alltrax schematics and it is far easier than the DCX, almost dummy proof. As I said this is the latest version where the FNKS box plugs directly into the controller via a 3 pin plug under the run/tow switch. I have unplugged that and have no luck. I have 53 volts in the batteries and all the way through to the B+ terminal.
Anyone have any experience/suggestions with these that can help? Thanks in advance. |

I have full back voltage power on the red wire in pin 5 on the main connector. Also have full power on pin 1 and when switched into reverse, full power on pin 2.

You also have to have full pack voltage on Pin-4. (comes from red switch)

Re: Alltrax XCT newest version help needed
No LED at all. LED will light up like the instructions say when hooked to a computer to install the correct motor programs. After that, nothing.
It is wired just like your diagram. No Voltage on the red and white wire in pin 4 as it is not setup to use the factory charging port. It is a lithium battery setup and the charger is directly connected to the distribution block that feeds the 2 packs. This configuration worked great with the DCX controller. Not sure what is different and why it is not now. Thanks for the help. |

Just a long shot here but, maybe you are not satisfying the safety interlock requirement. Feed pack voltage (+) into pin #5 if it is not present.

Quote:
Both Pin-4 & Pin-5 have to have pack voltage on them. Without pack voltage on Pin-4, the controller thinks your have a charger plugged in. If you look at the monitor screen when the computer is plugged in, you will see the "Charger Plugged In" flag is true. |

Re: Alltrax XCT newest version help needed
I do have voltage on Pin 5.
If i did not have voltage on Pin 4 with a DCX controller, why would I need it on Pin 4 with the XCT controller? If I do add it to Pin and plug in the charger, what could happen since I am not using a stock setup for charging? Could I add 48 volts to Pin 4 when the key switch is turned on? Thanks |

Re: Alltrax XCT newest version help needed
You Are correct JB, my bad. It was pin 5 on TXT48.
I think it will run with (+) to pin 4 but answer to your other question about this new control is at Alltrax tech support. You may be able to turn the safety interlock option off in the software also. I can't help much I am waiting on delivery of these new generation controls. I see they have shipped. |
