Default Powerwise 36v charger won't shut off

I'm about to change chargers to a 48v, but will probably sell my old Powerwise charger. But, before I do I wanted to correct a problem with it. The charger says automatic shutoff, but it never has. The previous owner said it wouldn't shutoff and I've have it 4 years and you have to remember to unplug or it will go forever. It has no problems charging my cart, it works fine, the batteries charge fully, but as it eases down in the 5amp mark it slows to a stall around 2 or 3 amps and will not stop. Any simple solutions....relay.....board...if not I'll pass it on to someone else with the same problem it has always had. I have researched before posting and haven't found any solutions. Thanks for any help!

Is your charger the older style that had seperate power and timer boards or the newer style that has only 1 board? Either way, you are going to have to replace the board that mounts to the bottom of the charger since they no longer make the "timer" board for the older style.

I believe it is the older style, haven't actually looked at the boards, yet. This board that needs replacing, any idea on the cost? If it's too high, this old thing may not be worth fixing. Thanks, for the help Rabbit.
