Re: Is it any better now?
So, I dyed the armrest black, and stuffed my winch controller into the void formerly occcupied by the donor car's e-brake. It's a nice fit, but I need a stay of some kind to clean it up a bit.
I also plumbed loom for the overhead lights through the mounting bar's pedestal and inside the roof for a much cleaner looking install. I hated the loom going beside the roof. It was ugly. The smaller wire you see hanging from the roof is the lead for the remote mic to my bluetooth head unit. I mounted it above the driver's seating position. The head unit itself is identical to the one I installed in my daily beater last year. I love it and now the cart has one too! I now have running lights, stop, turn and four way signals. Since the unit sported a horn button, I installed one of those too! Last edited by kab69440; 06-15-2012 at 07:52 PM.. Reason: linked another pic |

Re: Is it any better now?
Well, at long last I finally got that axle under the cart. It looked pretty ridiculous with just the rear lift blocks.

Re: Is it any better now?
There are a few issues that need to be addressed, however. The axle must be moved rearward. It will not allow my brush guard/ winch pad to coexist with a motor on the axle.
I had to remove my front splash guard, so now I have nowhere to mount my horn. Oh well, I can put it somewhere else. I can never replace my springs or mount larger tires. YIKES! I'll have to keep an eye on the pressure, too! I need to build a provision to mount the bottom of shock absorbers to. The axle doesn't seem to be equipped with one? I need to build longer tie rods. I don't like having the ends unscrewed this far. I need wheel spacers on the rear. 2" wouldn't hurt anything. The front wider than the rear just looks flat-out goofy. |

Re: Is it any better now?
I'm here!!Where do you want help? The axle can be relocated by having new holes punched in the springs,or build different length springs. The tie-rods can be cut in half, insert a cold-roll rod(at least 1" inside each half)with a gap in between the halves to correct your length.Shock-mounts are easy,Ez-Go uses a stud-mount shock,so just get some 1/4"x 1-1/2" steel flat-bar,figure out your location and length, bend about 1-1/2" of one end 90-degrees,and drill a hole in it for the shock-stud.Then weld the other end to your axle-housing.How come you said the springs can't be removed? Why can't you use bigger tires?Let me know,Hope this helps.
