EZGO RXV Speed
I am considering buying an electric RXV. I have driven one that runs @19mph. Is there an easy way short of changing the motor or controller to speed it up about 2 to 3 mph ? Thanks for the info.

Re: EZGO RXV Speed
I imagine you will have a hard time finding upgrades or any advice on the RXV.
It's new, but not only that it also is an A.C. electrical system, which means all the parts are different. Goodies will come out. . . eventually. |

Re: EZGO RXV Speed
All you need is a willing ezgo dealer to reprogram the controller for higher speeds, but have fun finding one, over 19mph is where the liability issues come in to play for the dealer. You would probably have to do some begging to get some speed out of that cart, but once programed it will fly!

Re: EZGO RXV Speed
If liability is the only issue you may be able to sign a waiver of repsonsibility. We do that on high speed cars.

Re: EZGO RXV Speed
19.9 mph is plenty fast - just add some 12" wheels and low pro tires for a little extra. Our policy is "NO" on cranking up the speed. My dealership isn't worth 1 customers need for speed. Every dealers programmer (those who have paid to get one) has their own unique code. Any issues with a cart can be electronically traced back to whoever changed the program. The carts are capable of 25 mph - if you want that, just wait for the new street legal version coming soon...

Re: EZGO RXV Speed
New to site and looking to learn what i can do to up the speed on 2012 and up rxv as i have just started a new shop and i know what i can do with gears and tires but what about programing the controller as i have bought the dealer curtis handheld to help with checking carts for faults or problems and would like to take this to the next level.
Thanks 350zman59 |

To the OP, I like the RXV my son has. (Only 19 mph) I think it's a real good performer for stock. Why do you need 2 more mph? In any case, I'm sure tires could solve your problem. |

Re: EZGO RXV Speed
bigger tires & wheels for street type use will get you a few mph, but be careful about high speed gears on rxv. the motor is also the brake. HS gears will hurt hill climbing ability, and will reduce braking effectiveness.
