Default Power fades away very quickly - with New Batteries

Good evening,

I have a 48 v (6x Club Car DS Electric IQ 48 Volt Regen. This summer i bought new batteries for my cart. Everything worked great. Suddenly last November, I was driving the kids around and noticed that my lights were very dim when I stepped on the accelerator, despite the fact that I had the car plugged in over night. The digital volt gauge drops very far whenever I step on the accelerator.

Now when I charge it, I have very limited run time. Almost like the batteries aren't charging, but I have 2 chargers and the issue is happening with both of them.

Wondering what your thoughts are? How can I diagnose?

Thanks

What kind of batteries? What charger? Please take battery voltages for each battery and the whole pack, and report back. Also check all connections for corrosion and make sure they are tight.

They're trojan batteries, and I have both the OEM club car charger, as well as a battery minder charger/desulfator. I'll check the rest and report back.

Thanks

A couple monthly maintenance items:
clean , inspect & tightened battery connections
Check water level

One bad connection or one bad cell in one battery
can cause run & charging problems

I have helped several fellow members with Trojan replacement batteries in the last year. While the Trojan is known as top of the line, they can have cell failures too. It has happened twice in the last year; one was a T1275 the other was a T875. Both failed within 3-6 months and were replaced by my local distributor without question. So, most likely one of them is failing. A volt meter should be able to pinpoint which one is faulty. Voltage chart attached for reference.

Remember that all batteries are effected by colder temperatures, they will loose their charge faster and feel anemic in colder weather. Batteries are optimum performance at 75-80*

I once had an issue with a quick drain. I could not go a couple of miles on new batteries. I had changed to a charger with its own meter. Ends up that the batteries weren't being fully charged.

Switched to another brand of charger and its night and day. The batteries are on a charger with a maintenance cycle. Really stays charged.

Thanks for the replies... I cleaned everything yesterday as part of another upgrade I'm making (see attached).

After a full overnight charge, I have a total of 53.4 volts, with 4 of the batteries around 9.1-9.2 volts, and 2 of the 4 coming in at 8.45 and 8.48 volts. Is it odd that they're not all the same? Should I now do a hydrometer test?

Are you tapping the 2 batteries on the driver's side for accessories/lights?

If so that creates an imbalance that is hard for the charging system to overcome.
