If your serial number starts with PQ06, the magnet will work

I'm not sure that the magnet would give you what you want. It will increase your speed but not the torque (or very little on the torque) and it will remove your regen which is handy for braking.

PM Dave at Revolution for more exact information but, given that you have already said that you regularly carry 3 or 4 people I think you would be better off with an Alltrax controller. This will give you heaps of speed and torque and even allow you to set it up with a toggle that allows you to switch between speed and torque on the fly.

OK it's a lot more money than a magnet but it will give you a much better result.

Honestly, if you're OK with 16mph I would leave it alone. If a magnet nets you another 4mph the kid on the 10 speed in the neighborhood will still be passing you, plus you will have given up regend braking on hills if you got them.

As Yawood stated I would look more at if you have the torque, braking, and the suspension for hauling people around. It's easy to drop $1,500 into a cart upgrading the drivetrain, and $500 in wheels only to have the kid on the $200 10 speed still beat you in a one mile sprint.

Now if there's another cart passing you, and thumbing their nose at ya, break out another $100 bill cause game on. :)

For now I am OK with the speed, really just wanted to see if that was about normal. Not in any races...so far.

I wouldn't pay a hundred bucks for a change in code either.

Heck I did. Actually it was $75 or a little less, I do not recall as I did it as soon as I got the cart. I like like my regen braking and maintain it this way......

If I can get it for $75 around here I'll do the exact same! While they're in there I'll have them set regen higher for me if possible. I got a few hills on gravel roads where 1960's emergency cable brakes just don't cut it.

I too am a proponent of the regen feature. I go fast and drop off just to feel it. Don't know if you know what a Jake-Brake is, but it remonds me of the early ones I had on my trucks.... (not as strong and loud, but fun none the less)

It is very effective, I use mine for most of the stopping action and only press the brake at the very end.

I wired my brake lights to come ON when the Regen brake is active so I did not even have to use a brake switch at the pedal:
