With all that amperage coming (by either controller) you would have wanted 2 awg. 4 awg can work up to 500 amps, but for extended durations of amp loading or anything at 500 and above, it is strongly recommended by most everyone to run 2 awg. Heck, I use to use 1 awg across the batteries on an old cart.

You can always go with a 400 amp controller.....

If I go with a 400 amp controller because I have 4g brand new cables, will there be alot of difference in torque between the 500amp and 2g wires?

Scotty b. I tryed to find the alltrax Sr 48500 with the 400 solenoid for my cart but my cart is not in the options. I have a 96 ds that has a mcor on it. I dont have the vglide anymore. The guy before me converted it to mcor. So which controller do I get? It is still a series cart with a 5k to 0 Curtis controller on it.

Scotty b, does it matter if I have the vglide or the mcor? Will it have the same plug to plug into the controller either way?

NO problem - it's a series cart with MCOR. Good news is the 48v Vglide and MCOR program the same

Ok so if I order the alltrax sr48500 that says it's for the v glide, the plugs are the same as the one one on my cart even though it has the mcor?

Scotty b.
I just ordered the sr48500 and the 400 solenoid. How should I get the controller programmed. 5k-0 is how my controller is now. Also I will be ordering the reverse contactor very soon.

Scotty pre-programs all controllers before shipping them out to you.

Just make sure your running the correct map with the D&D motor you have. If Scotty so happens not to have the map you need (which I doubt) you can always call D&D and ask them which map you should run. Good Luck!
