XCT controller G29 YDRE throttle is on or off

2009 Yamaha YDRE Drive.

Alltrax XCT-48500-YDRE controller.

Install controller, apply throttle and it's 100% all the time. Alltrax toolkit throttle monitor is 100% all the time.

Called Alltrax, was told I had throttle issue with cart. Instructions were to check for 5v at Pin 7 (orange) all the time and 0-4.5v at Pin 5 (blue) while moving throttle. I found solid 3v at Pin 5 (blue) all the time so we replaced $100 throttle sensor. Cart still does same thing.

I bench tested the throttle sensor we removed. I applied 5v at orange wire pin and monitored blue wire pin, solid 3v all the time. I decided to swap input so I applied 5v to blue wire pin and BAM! I had 0-4.5v output on orange wire pin as I turned sensor.

No where in alltrax instructions tells me to swap orange and blue wires, nor did I receive an adapter to swap wires at throttle sensor.

Is this a 2009 YDRE problem or is Alltrax having issues with their XCT controllers?

That is a curious problem you worked through. I'll ask Alltrax and hopefully have an answer today for you.
You know these controls are new and there is some work still being done wringing out every year, model, and make.

It turns out, that (the) drawing has been wrong and I’m fixing it now.

Pin 5 is ATHROT-HI = 5V, pin 7 is ATHROT_W = output wiper

“Why (the) throttle isn’t working is probably because we were measuring the wrong points as shown in the wrong drawing. I wonder if some pins got bent or we have a generic two wire throttle selected instead of the YDRE throttle? Does the throttle read 100% at the floor? Can we get a snap shot of the controller with the throttle connected? Can we check which throttle is programmed?”

Engineering would like to know if we could get a snapshot of that controller, and if the customer could also check the throttle programming. Internally the YDRE setting is different than the 0-5v setting, so we want to make sure YDRE is selected and not generic 0-5v.

Ah so Alltrax knows something about this. I would like a copy of the corrected drawing.

If he is asking me if there are bent pins, there is not. It is also 3 wire throttle sensor, Yamaha OEM part number JW2-H5885-00.

Controller is programmed by factory for YDRE throttle type.

What do they mean by "snapshot"?

Snapshot could mean a picture or a monitor file. Why not give him both?

I have both pictures of each Alltrax Toolkit screen and a monitor file from a short drive on my home computer. I will email them after work tonight.
