orange cable from fnr
Hello, i have a 2000 ds club car 48 volt, i had issue with orange cable from fnr to motor getting very hot, so i changed fnr to hd and i just turn on switch and no movement in cart the cable still getting way to hot, im changing to 2awg cables tomorrow, any other ideas or may this correct the heating up issue?

There should not be any power going through that cable with just the Key switch on.
That cable getting hot means power is going through the motor field coil, which probably means your solenoid is welded closed. That cable may also have internal damage from overheating which will increase it's resistance and cause it to burn when its under load. It would be best to replace that cable, or cut a few inches off the end and crimp a new terminal on if possible. |
