Default 99 yamaha g16 troubles

Cart will start and run for a minute then acts like its out of fuel or not spark. Will start a few times and fo this this then won't start at all. I have changed carb, cleaned old one, gone through all the lines, new pump, coil is working. Did all the common air fuel spark things still same issue. Only strange thing is once it stops wanting to start if I crank and at same time unscrew gas cap it will fire up for a few seconds. Bad gas cap? Not venting right maybe idk. Or is the engine getting vapor locked somehow or am I still missing something. And yes it's getting fuel.

Try leaving the gas cap off for a little bit, see if that does anything. A vacuum in the tank will prevent the fuel from flowing properly.

When you checked air, fuel, spark....did you do any diagnostic tests? Spark tester tool? Fuel line in a jar/flow test? Compression test?

It sounds to me like it might be fuel related. I would dive deeper into that to see how much fuel is being delivered to the carb.

Also, if you changed the carb, did you use a new $30 Chinese carb? If so, that could be part of the problem. If you have the original Mikuni, I would clean that up really good, clean all the jets out etc and reuse it. Mikuni carb is worlds above a cheap China carb.

Not fuel cap. Must of just been lucky messing with that. After it wouldn't start pulled plug and was not getting spark, wait little while then there was spark. The coil has good ohms so maybe it is an electrical problem?

If you are certain that you are losing spark as it warms and the spark returns when it cools, it is the TCI.
