Unless there is an external you antenna aren't going to get a BT connection with it in that metal box.

May indeed be the case, but the series of youtubes by Average Joe shows the xiaoxiangBMS app working on his tablet..I-Pad maybe? Maybe he has anantenna, dunno.

Anyway, I have determined that the one app which shows info is actually reading the battery.....in my phone!

Go to 9:07 and again to 9:30 to see the Android app which works for him.

So, I have contacted BibBattery dot com, and I received the following reply :

"I honestly couldnt tell you why some work and some dont, other than the fact that this is NOT our OFFICIAL app for our batteries.

I said to forget the app....why am I unable to connect via Bluetooth??
I responded with extreme disappointment from a company who sold me a $2200.00++ battery.......

I suggested that they contact the manufacturer of the BMS and inquire how to enable Bluetooth...

Sometimes you have to stick your fingers up their nostrils to the second knuckle and lead them around by the nose......

I spoke to a reseller of BigBattery who was more helpful than BB themselves.
He said that JBD manufactures the BMS custom for BB, and that BB is actually part owner of JBD..... This nice guy did not know the answer to the Bluetooth connectivity problem, but said there may be an added dongle necessary for Bluetooth. He said that he knows the owner of BB quite well, and he would get in contact in an effort to get a better response than " I honestly dont know." (intentional misspelling to mimic the actual BB response._)

It is possible that the HSKY that was sent to Average Joe has a BMS manufactured by another company, and the JBD unit just may not be Bluetooth capable...

I did tell him that BB does not tout the Bluetooth connectivity but I did see oit on the youtube video....

I typically do not take this sort of thing laying down..... Stay tuned....

Hi Ronno,

Chances are the JBD is bluetooth ready and not bluetooth capable. It may just be missing the bluetooth module that can be purchased for $10 on AliExpress.

Can you open the pack and have a look at the BMS? The module will look like this.
