Default Carb leaking gas

I have a 1990 2 cycle that I have been restoring. After cleaning the carb I notice when the cart is running I have gas spraying out of a stem with a hole in it at the top of the carb. the oiler is dissconnected and I dont rememebe anything attached here. I blicked the hole with a tooth pick and the cart ran very rough. Carts runs good other than I am loosing gas. How do I fix this?

XER,

That piece you are referring to is the vent for the Fuel Bowl. I bet you have a needle valve or a float issue. Take the bowl off, and check to see if your float is stuck. I would just take the whole carb out, dismantle it, and clean ALL pieces, Jets, Float, needle valve, etc. Give that a try and let us know!!

Glad you got it! Was the valve dirty? Float stuck? Do tell! Do tell!

Well Jon not sure. Removed, dismantle, cleaned and checked for debris, assembled and mounted it. no more leaking gas.
