Re: Drive belt question
On that belt issue, mine acts the same way, especially since I put new belt on, the drive clutch has a heavy spring in it and closes up on the belt at a higher RPM, It grabs hard, as in whiplash, no matter how gradual I try to take off. The old belt no doubt has a softer takeoff accompanied with an audible sqeel, especially on the high end. By the way I forget to mention I have carryall clutches on a regular CC.

Re: Drive belt question
Belt is 1 inch wide when new. .07 wear will reduce speed by 1 mph. if below .910 belt must be replaced. Check your clutch and make sure the faces are flat. A large dip in the face can also cause a grabbing action.

Do any of you know why sometimes when I press the gas pedal, the starter doesnt start to turn to crank engine? When I the let it go and press down again it will work. This is a gas cart where engine kicks on when gas pedal pressed.

Re: Drive belt question
possible answers.
1. If you hear a click from the solenoid, it may be the solenoid. 2. If the solenoid does not click, it most likely is a micro switch associated with the foot pedal. On an EZ-GO they are hard to find. It is under the floor mat in a box. Must remove sill plate to get mat up. 3. Starter brushes worn out. least likely cause, but carefully move the clutch with pedal depressed and see if it kicks Year and model would help |

Re: Drive belt question
Check the microswitch inside the plastic housing where the throttle cable come out.

Re: Drive belt question
Once I open that up and locate this micro switch, what would I look for?

Re: Drive belt question
there are two switches. one has a white wire and a black stripe and only 2 connections. the other one is the one that has wiring to activate the solenoid. that is the one to replace. it has 3 connections and usually is on top. Beware, there are very small nuts on the other end of the screws you have to take out. Be careful not to loose them.

Could it be as simple as getting a new battery? Can this be any standard 12volt car battery?
