Default New Batteries and Volt Reading HELP

I just purchased 4 new Interstate 12VGC batteries and installed them in our '06 CC Precedent and have a question. I took a volt reading of the new batteries before I plugged the charger in and it was about 12.5v per battery and 50v total. They've been on the charger now for almost 12 hrs and they are now reading 15v per battery and 60v total.
Is this normal? The amps on the charger have been going down, so it appears that the charger is monitoring the batteries.
I tried looking all over for the battery specs but can't find any useful info.
By the way I didn't see much info in the forums on anyone using this brand of battery, but I got a killer deal through a friend so we'll see how they do and last.
Thanks!!!

don,t panic new batteries arn,t 100% so the charger will work for many hours, i have seen them take 18 hours before shutting off.............make sure you break them in right as for your voltage once the charger shuts off and you leave the batteries sit say overnight you,ll see the voltage will drop .......part of it is a surface charge so don,t worry you will be fine.......................

THANKS!! I was so use to the other batteries charging so quickly and the volts not being as high.
Is it normal for the voltage to be around 60v though for a 48v system?

New batteries take longer to charge than older batteries.
They will take about 15-25 charge cycles to come up to about 95% of their potential and an additional 75 charges to reach 100%.
