99 elec club car not wanting to go - slow to nothing

Ok. I found the microswitch inside the potentiometer and lo and behold, it says microswitch on it. I see three more on the forward and reverse switch too.

Anyway, only two of the three tabs were wired so I tested those and without the switch engaged, it read zero.

I had to finally turn my test meter on the 2M scale for ohms since the others maxed out. On that scale, when the switch was activated, it read .435 ohms at 2M. I guess that equates to 4350 ohms and the switch is good.

Is my logic correct? If so and the switch is good, what should I test next? The other mircos on the forward/reserve?

I have a 99 club car carry all 48 volt and was having the same problems as you. Turns out it was the foward reverse rotary switch. The one post got hot from a bad connection and melted in far enough to not make contact. Remove the switch from the cart and it can be disassembled and cleaned. There is a snap ring to remove and then it will slide apart. I cleaned up all the contacts and repaired it for now until I get a new switch. with the switch removed you can do a continuity test to see if it is making contact. This was my dilema and now she flies. I had voltage out of the controller to the switch but nothing from the switch to the motor. Take a look! Have a great weekend!

Well, my neighbor ordered the three microswitches on the forward/reverse switch and that did the trick. He had me change all the contacts in case it was a loose or corroded wire. I don't think it was the center one that is the reverse alarm. It had to be either the three contact to the rear or two contact microswitch most forward. I'll have to test them to see which ones he can keep or throw away.

I appreciate all the help and direction. At least now, I have some idea of the basic troubleshooting process and learned something.
