pretty sure it was a pds. had two large and two small wires to the motor. it did have regen braking also. that took a bit getting used to. the build is looking good!

Thanks Madoc,
yeah, I've ask scott about it since then. He says they prefer that system because of the regen braking and because you can get so much out of it speed and performance wise. He said you just can't go too crazy with the speed, and not to over-use the regen, use your brakes!

Well, it's been a few days(feels like months!!). Been waiting on parts, playing with a 7 yr. old grandson, and delivering baby goats(it's a boy!)
Got some work done. Front end all built up,controller & 2ga. wires run, then started toying with the idea of modifying the controller cover to hide at least some of the new one. Has anyone come up with an after-market cover of some kind for this?
Anyway a few more pics for those who love them soP1010034.jpg

P1010036.jpg By the way,ran into my first major uh-oh,I tried mounting the tires and they bottomed out on the disc calipers- 2" spacers should be here tomorrow

Looking good.
I would be afraid of trapping heat with a cover on the alltrax control. Call their tech staff before you invest in building one.

In my opinion the 200amp solenoid is too small for this build? I could be wrong but go to Alltrax website and see if their recommendation for that big control is not a 400 amp solenoid.

The brake mechanism is pretty gnarly looking but you could clean it up, paint it and use it. I got rid of the spring and the rod that connected the old cables entirely. Just bolt the master cylinder bracket directly to the original brake bracket. I used a few washers as shims to get the pedal higher on mine. Worked perfect.

Haddn't thought of the heat issue, thanks Scottyb! And I thought the same thing on the 200 amp solenoid. I asked about it and was told the 200 would work, but I have a 400ampHD sitting here.I think I'm going to swap them out and save the 200 for a future build.

Hey Terry, and yes I thought of cleaning the brake spring assmbly, but it is stripped about 1 1/2" from the end and I'm affraid I'll lose too much adjustment after I cut it off. I'll just clean it best I can and put it my ever-growing spare parts collection!
