Default Melted battery post

While driving, car stalled and noted positive battery post on #2 battery had melted. Checked wiring diagram and all is correct. Battery is 3 mos old. Could it be a defective battery? Any other suggestions?

welcome to BGW.......99.9% of the time when a battery post melts its either a loose and or dirty or poor connection...........however there is a fix so you don,t have to scrap the battery..............................

I have seen the fix but the case is melted enough to see the battery fluid. Can that be safely repaired?

Contact the dealer and ask him to have it repaired. A new lid and post can be fitted to the otherwise good battery for much less than the cost of a new one. Call around and ask who can do it if he says no.
