cannot identify cart g3183

I need to identify an EZGO golf cart. only information I could get under dash on tag was 296683 and g3183. engine I was able to get more information. I'm guessing the year is 1983. The exaust is in the rear of cart instead of under seat so I think it fits in with being a 83. The engine is mounted the crankshaft pointing to rear of machine. starter/gen on top of engine mounted to 3 plates.

Robin Engine
Model: EC25-2PG
Disp: 244cc
Motor: 83-08185

Engine has 45 pounds of compression
good spark bug spark plug is always wet
when it use to run it smoked all the time and did not have alot of speed it lost speed over the years
need information on how to service engine and measurements on stuff that can be worn out so I can check

Service manual is needed for cart and engine.

Yes it is a 83 marathon, and yes the motor does sit side ways,it'a a 2pg, The engine is mounted the crankshaft pointing to rear of machine/cart

with the exaust on the 83 being unique is that the only difference in it because I am trying to find manuals on the machine

since its a 1983 marathon what does the g3183 stand for on the machine

the last two # are the year. if you only have 45# of compression, you need at least a top end rebuild. should have at least 90-100, but 120 is most desirable. for a manual, look in the "gas tech" section at the top of this forum. in there go to the gold stars and follow the link to bennetts carts.. should find a manual there.

bennetts carts skipped over 1983 and it is the odd year for like the exaust unless its only the muffler and not the engine thats diferent since its still a 2pg with st/gen on top
